Text assistant

Texting is Prybar's native channel. Your customers already text — it is how most people prefer to reach a trade business. Prybar answers in seconds and finishes the job in the same thread.

Answering

Every incoming text gets a reply in seconds, at any hour. The assistant reads the message, checks your business facts and your real availability, and answers the way you would.

It is a conversation, not a menu. Customers can ask follow-up questions, change their mind, or give details out of order, and the assistant keeps up.

Note

A customer who writes in Spanish gets a reply in Spanish, in the same tone, for the rest of the conversation.

Booking and rescheduling

The assistant checks your actual schedule before offering a time — it does not guess at availability or promise a slot you have already filled. When a customer agrees to a time, the appointment is written to your schedule and they get a confirmation.

Customers can also reschedule or cancel by text, and the change is reflected in your schedule immediately.

Quotes, invoices, and payment

Estimates and invoices can be sent and approved inside the text thread, and invoices can be paid by card without leaving it. Amounts are read from the real invoice record — the assistant never calculates or restates a total from memory.

Tip

Money-related messages are held to a stricter standard than ordinary chat: the assistant must be able to point at the real record behind every figure it states. If it cannot, it defers to you instead of guessing.

Missed-call text-back

A missed call is a customer who was ready to talk. When a call to your line goes unanswered, Prybar sends an immediate text so the conversation starts anyway instead of ending in voicemail.

Follow-ups and reviews

The assistant handles the chasing that never gets done:

  • Quiet quotes — an estimate that has had no reply gets a nudge, once, at a sensible interval.
  • Appointment reminders — sent ahead of the visit, which is the cheapest way to reduce no-shows.
  • Post-visit check-ins — after a completed job, to catch problems while they are still small.
  • Review requests — after work is done and paid, asking happy customers for a review.

Each of these is delivered once. If a message fails to send, it is retried rather than counted as done — you will not have a customer marked as “followed up” when nothing actually went out.

Stepping in yourself

You are never locked out of your own conversations. Open any thread from the dashboard and reply directly. You can also pause the assistant for a specific customer so new messages come to you instead.

Opt-outs and compliance

Prybar respects opt-outs automatically. If a customer replies STOP, no further automated messages go to that number. We also block sending to numbers that no carrier can deliver to, so you do not burn deliverability on unreachable contacts.

You remain responsible for texting people who have contacted your business, and for following SMS regulations including TCPA. Prybar is built to make the compliant path the default, not to replace your judgement.
